Find Google Ranking Opportunities You Already Have

Published 28 October 2026 · AI Suite

What if your next top ranking is already sitting in your Google Search Console right now? Not a brand new keyword. Not a brand new site. Something you already have, hiding in plain sight.

Most people scroll right past it every single day. It could be the easiest ranking you ever grab.

The Problem: Chasing New Keywords

Most people think ranking means starting from zero. New keyword, new page, wait months, hope it works. That's the slow way.

The fast way is to look at where you already show up. Google already knows your site. It's already putting you on page two or spot 11 or spot 15 for loads of keywords. You just can't see them unless you look.

The Solution: Search OS Method

Connect to Google Search Console. Pull out the keywords you're already close to ranking for. Not page 10 — page 2. Spots 11-15. The ones where a small push gets you onto page 1.

  1. Export your GSC data — all queries with impressions and average position
  2. Filter for position 11-20 — these are your "close" keywords
  3. Filter for impressions > 50 — enough volume to matter
  4. Sort by impressions descending — highest opportunity first
  5. Push those pages — add internal links, improve content, build backlinks to the specific page

Why This Works Better Than Before

AI search changed the game. It used to be that only the number one spot really counted. One winner took it all. But now, with AI mode and AI answers, Google reads the top 10, even the top 20 results, and pulls bits from all of them.

So being close isn't a waste anymore. Being in that top group means you can get picked, quoted, and linked to. That flips everything. You don't need to be perfect on one single page. You need to show up across lots of them. And the fastest way to show up is to grab the keywords you're already close on.

Our GSC Data (Real Example)

From our latest GSC check: 333/720 pages indexed, 316 impressions, 0 clicks, 0.00% CTR (7-day). Top queries:

The "ai seo for trades" query is already at position 15.3 — that's a page-2 keyword. A small push (internal links, content refresh, backlink) could get it to page 1.

How to Get There

  1. Export GSC data — Performance → Queries → last 28 days → export CSV
  2. Filter position 11-20 — these are your close keywords
  3. Filter impressions > 50 — enough volume to matter
  4. Sort by impressions — highest opportunity first
  5. Push the page — add internal links, refresh content, build backlinks to that specific URL
  6. Track weekly — check if position improved after changes

The AI Suite SEO system monitors GSC daily and identifies close-to-ranking keywords automatically. We focus on pushing page-2 keywords to page 1 instead of chasing new terms.
