Do I need a powerful computer? No. The Hermes Desktop App is lightweight and runs happily on a 4-year-old laptop with 8GB of RAM. The AI processing happens in the cloud — your machine is just the interface.
Can I use it on multiple computers? Yes. The Team Rollout package covers five machines, and you can add more. Your prompt library and settings sync across devices so you get the same experience everywhere.
What AI models does it support? Any model available through OpenRouter, plus direct connections to Claude, GPT, and local models via Ollama. You can even set up failover so if one provider is down, another takes over automatically.
Is my data secure? The desktop app communicates with AI providers over encrypted connections. Your files stay on your machine unless you explicitly upload them. The SSH tunnel uses key-based authentication, and we never store your credentials on our servers.
